Life has been going so fast and I figured my birthday would be a great time to stop and reflect back on an epic year. Most importantly I have been blessed with an incredible family. My son is now eleven and funnier than ever! My wife not only is an amazing wife, but an incredible work partner.
Many years ago my family and I started celebrating the day I karate kicked my way into the world by holding Mattober Fest during the month of October. More than just a birthday celebration, it is a revelry of all things awesome! So without delay, here are some of the most memorable moments of my life this year while holding a camera.
Spahr's Seafood in Houma, La just held their third craft beer dinner. Lead by Chef Minh Lee and craft beer expert Ron Swoboda, a very delicious and informative time was had by all whom attended. Chef Lee paired a wide variety of flavors with an exceptional beer selection. The dinner was an excellent value coming in at $65 for Hors D'oeuvres, a five course dinner, and six craft beers. Below are photos and descriptions of the food and beverage. Finding out more about Spahr's Seafood at www.spahrsseafood.com .
I was recently hired by W. L. Gaiennie Company to photograph for the Lafourche Parish Tourism board's new campaign "Dig In". What was needed was an enticing bowl of gumbo for some of their upcoming marketing and ads. Turn around time was tight. I think it was two or three days total. With the deadline looming my wife, Becky, and I got to work.
The international association of culinary professionals, a.k.a. IACP, descended upon Austin this past June. I was one of the many and was treated to a wonderful experience. Austin has been on the map with the music / hipster scene for a while, but I never had the chance to experience what the hype was about. During my week long stay I feel I had a complete Austin adventure, moustaches and all.
Below is my visual representation of the sights, sounds, and tastes I came across.
