I just received my d800 and wanted to test the video mode in a real shooting situation. I took it out to a nature reserve near my house in south Louisiana along with my Nikon 24-70mm, Sigma 120-400mm, and tripod. I shot on neutral picture setting which lowers the contrast and helps keep dynamic range. I also used the 60 frames per second 720P movie setting for the slow motion shots. This was edited in Sony Vegas which handled the raw files quite well. There is a slight curves adjustment to bring back contrast and some sharpening. The music is courtesy of zero-project.gr. Please ask if you have questions.
